Document the cost difference caused by an identified scope revision.

A plumbing change-order estimate compares an agreed baseline with a specific revision. It separates added and deleted quantities, labor, equipment and subcontract costs so the reviewer can trace the pricing basis.

Confirm scope and assumptions against your project documents.

Scope and inputs to reconcile

Define the affected drawing sheets, RFI or instruction, changed systems and revision dates. Identify completed work, unused materials, credits and replacement work separately.

Workflow and checks

Compare the two issued sets, mark additions and deletions, and reconcile vendor quotations with quantities already purchased. Use the contract’s agreed pricing rules where supplied; show assumptions when terms are unresolved.

What the output should show

Request a delta quantity schedule, cost backup, drawing references, credit/addition totals and a record of exclusions. Schedule impact should be supported separately from the direct-cost calculation.

Exclusions and unresolved decisions

An estimate does not establish entitlement, approval of a claim or a guaranteed recovery. Delay analysis and legal interpretation are separate professional tasks.

Documents to share for a quote

Provide the original bid scope, baseline and revised drawings, change instruction, relevant pricing terms and purchase/time records. State the reviewer’s required format and response deadline.
