At a glance

Measure PEX routes and the specified connection/manifold arrangement.

PEX pipe takeoff distinguishes trunk-and-branch routing from individual manifold runs. The tubing and fitting system must match the project specification; do not assume all PEX products or joint systems are interchangeable.

Confirm scope and assumptions against your project documents.

Scope and inputs to reconcile

Group tubing by size and service. Count manifolds, connection fittings, transition adapters, valves and specified bend/support accessories.

Workflow and checks

Trace each outlet from its supply point and reconcile vertical drops. Separate bends formed in tubing from fittings actually specified or shown, then confirm supplier coil/purchasing allowances.

What the output should show

A useful schedule shows measured tubing, fitting/joint system, manifold outlet counts and separate waste allowances.

Exclusions and unresolved decisions

Design approval, manufacturer compatibility and installation requirements are separate from measurement. Labor savings cannot be guaranteed from material selection alone.

Documents to share for a quote

Provide water distribution plans, manifold schedules and tubing/fitting specifications.
