Estimate demolition, retained systems and new connections in an existing building.

Renovation plumbing estimates distinguish retained piping from demolition, replacement and new tie-ins. Existing-condition information and occupied-building restrictions can change both quantities and installation sequencing.

Confirm scope and assumptions against your project documents.

Scope and inputs to reconcile

Identify disconnects, removals, capped branches, rerouted pipe, temporary supplies and new fixture connections. Separate work visible on drawings from concealed conditions that need investigation.

Workflow and checks

Overlay demolition and new-work sheets, then reconcile as-built information and site survey notes. Identify shutdown windows, access restrictions and restoration responsibilities before assigning installation hours.

What the output should show

Request separate demolition and new-work schedules, a tie-in register, phasing assumptions and allowances for specifically identified unknowns. Keep those allowances visible for later revision.

Exclusions and unresolved decisions

Hazardous-material remediation, destructive investigation, structural modifications, finish repairs and after-hours premiums are not automatically part of a plumbing estimate.

Documents to share for a quote

Send demolition/new-work drawings, available as-builts, survey photos, occupancy constraints and shutdown requirements. Identify who carries temporary services and restoration.
