Price a ground-up plumbing package by construction phase.

A new construction plumbing estimate follows the work from underground installation through rough-in, equipment connections and final fixture setting. Phase separation makes incomplete design information and scope handoffs visible before a bid is assembled.

Confirm scope and assumptions against your project documents.

Scope and inputs to reconcile

Group sub-slab drainage, water services, risers, floor branches, plant equipment and trim separately. Repeated floor plans still need floor counts, riser lengths and common-area reconciliation.

Workflow and checks

Start with the issued drawing index and addenda. Reconcile underground work before counting aboveground branches, then check fixture schedules and equipment connections. Record testing and temporary-work requirements in the phase that carries them.

What the output should show

Request quantities and labor assumptions by phase, equipment/vendor package boundaries, drawing references and a bid summary with allowances separated from measured work.

Exclusions and unresolved decisions

Engineering completion, unforeseen ground conditions and later drawing revisions are separate risks. The estimate must state whether utility work, excavation, firestopping, insulation and commissioning are included.

Documents to share for a quote

Provide the civil, architectural, structural and plumbing sets, equipment schedules, specifications and bid deadline. Identify the current design stage and alternates requiring separate totals.
