At a glance

Use dimensions and spool information in an isometric piping takeoff.

An isometric plumbing drawing helps distinguish directional changes, elevations and connections in a piping assembly. Its perspective view does not establish accurate length without dimensions or a confirmed scale.

Confirm scope and assumptions against your project documents.

Scope and inputs to reconcile

Identify pipe segments, elbows, branches, elevation changes and equipment connections in each view.

Workflow and checks

Measure stated dimensions, reconcile the assembly with plans/risers and assign a unique quantity record to each segment. Identify undimensioned offsets separately.

What the output should show

Deliver segment lengths and fitting counts with view/spool references and unresolved dimension notes.

Exclusions and unresolved decisions

Do not infer cut lengths or fabrication tolerances from the apparent angle of a diagram. Fabrication documents may be a separate deliverable.

Documents to share for a quote

Provide dimensioned isometrics, plan references and the required measurement/fabrication boundary.
